Online scientific pesticides workshop

The PEDIAC consortium organises a scientific workshop to discuss and better understand the role of pesticides in childhood cancer development.

Epidemiological evidences support that pesticide exposures may increase the risk of several types of childhood cancers. However, the specific compounds and levels of exposition responsible for the risk remain poorly understood. These parameters are essential to precisely study their biological consequences on model systems using appropriate exposure levels.
Among candidates, pyrethroids and organophophorous are used widely, either in professional contexts or sometimes as indoor domestic insecticides.

The workshop will address some aspects of pesticide exposures, how to measure their levels and what cells they may affect.
